Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, marked the anniversary of former President Donald Trump’s term with a series of posts on social media addressing issues from inflation to law enforcement transparency and healthcare enrollment.

On January 20, 2026, Norcross wrote, “Today marks one year of Trump in office. He promised to bring costs down. Instead, his inflation forced New Jersey families to pay $2,060 more in just one year for housing, transportation, and everyday essentials. Working families pay the price.” The post was made as part of ongoing criticism by some lawmakers regarding rising consumer costs during the Trump administration.

Later that day, Norcross addressed law enforcement accountability: “Body cameras are about protecting transparency and accountability. That’s why I introduced legislation to require ICE agents to wear body cameras nationwide, just as police officers in New Jersey do. This is a straightforward step to build trust and ensure everyone is held to the”. The tweet reflects legislative efforts aimed at increasing oversight within federal agencies.

On January 21, 2026, Norcross posted about healthcare access: “I’ve been fighting to lower costs and protect affordable healthcare for South Jersey families. Open enrollment for health coverage in New Jersey ends January 31. If you need coverage, now is the time to sign up through Get Covered NJ. Don’t wait.”

Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews and previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in Camden in 1958, he continues to reside there while representing constituents from South Jersey.
