Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared a series of tweets addressing significant issues. Serving since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews, Norcross has been vocal about both domestic and international matters.
On May 12, 2025, Norcross announced the release of Edan Alexander from captivity by Hamas terrorists. “Edan Alexander has finally been released by Hamas terrorists and has reunited with his family,” he tweeted. He highlighted the relief felt by Edan’s parents, Adi and Yael, who had been awaiting their son’s return for over a year.
The following day, on May 13, 2025, Norcross expressed his opposition to actions taken against USAID. “I joined over 200 of my colleagues to take a stand against Trump’s illegal attack on USAID,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of USAID as a crucial agency that provides aid worldwide in combating hunger, disease, and disasters.
Later that same day, Norcross criticized former President Trump and Republican members of Congress regarding healthcare policies. “Trump and Republicans in Congress spent months lying to the American people,” he claimed. He accused them of planning to reduce healthcare access for millions of Americans despite assurances otherwise.
Donald Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 and continues to reside there at age 64. Before his tenure in Congress began in 2014, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate from 2010 to 2014.
