Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed healthcare policy and veterans’ advocacy in a series of posts on September 29, 2025.

In his first post that day, Norcross wrote, “Republicans are ready to let healthcare tax credits expire. That means healthcare costs will be sky high for 24,000 of our neighbors. Healthcare is a right, and we won’t let our neighbors down.” (September 29, 2025).

Later the same day, he drew attention to global health concerns with a message recognizing World Heart Day: “Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. On World Heart Day, we’re reminded of the importance of prevention, treatment, and expanding access to quality healthcare so we can all live healthier, longer lives. This starts with access to good, affordable” (September 29, 2025).

In an evening post on September 29th, Norcross highlighted the legacy of a major veterans’ organization: “Since 1899, the Veterans of Foreign Wars has fought for those who fought for us. Today, we honor the VFW’s legacy of advocacy, camaraderie, and support for America’s veterans.”

Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st District since replacing Rob Andrews in Congress in 2014. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross continues to focus on issues including healthcare access and veteran support as part of his legislative priorities.
