Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing ongoing political disputes and commemorating military service.

On November 8, 2025, Norcross criticized his Republican colleagues for their absence from legislative work, stating, “Republicans haven’t come back to work in over a month. This isn’t a vacation this is a fight for Americans’ healthcare, and I’m not giving up.”

The following day, he commented on the continuing government shutdown, which he attributed to former President Trump and Republican lawmakers. On November 9, 2025, Norcross wrote, “Day 40 of America held hostage by this Trump shutdown. Democrats are fighting to ensure all Americans have access to quality, affordable healthcare. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.”

In addition to political commentary, Norcross also acknowledged the anniversary of the United States Marine Corps on November 10, 2025. He stated: “Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps! For 250 years, the Marines have embodied courage, honor, and duty. To all who served, your sacrifice and strength inspire us all. Semper Fi!”

Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross continues to advocate for healthcare access as part of his legislative priorities.
