Congressman Donald Norcross, who has represented New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2014, recently addressed several issues through a series of public statements on social media. His posts focused on federal education funding, energy policy impacts in New Jersey, and the response to recent flooding in the state.
On July 14, 2025, Norcross criticized the Trump Administration regarding withheld federal education funds. He stated, “I signed on to a letter demanding that the Trump Administration stop playing politics with our schools and release the $7 billion in education funding they’re illegally withholding. Trump is jeopardizing the education of millions of students across the country by robbing our”.
Later that day, Norcross commented on proposed energy legislation and its potential effects on New Jersey residents. He posted on July 14, 2025: “Energy bills in Jersey are already too high, and the Big Ugly Bill is going to make this problem far worse. Trump’s Big Ugly Bill guts clean energy investments that would’ve lowered costs for families and created good-paying jobs right here at home.”
On July 15, 2025, Norcross expressed concern over recent flooding events in New Jersey and emphasized the need for robust emergency services funding. He wrote: “I’m saddened to hear of the loss of life in New Jersey. Floods are very dangerous and they’re getting more severe. We should be investing in emergency response, not cutting FEMA and NOAA when families need them most.”
Donald Norcross has served as a U.S. Representative since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate from 2010 to 2014. Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there.
