Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several local and national issues through his social media posts.
On May 28, 2026, Norcross commented on developments at Delaney Hall, stating, “The reports of escalations at Delaney Hall are disturbing. I’m monitoring the situation and in conversations with my colleagues. It may be tough to get accurate information from ICE, but that won’t stop us from conducting the oversight that is our congressional duty.”
Later that day, he highlighted federal support for local law enforcement in South Jersey: “One of my favorite parts of this job is bringing federal funding home to South Jersey and I was happy to have delivered half a million dollars in funding to Haddonfield for a brand new police headquarters. Today, we cut the ribbon on that headquarters, giving the men and women” (May 28, 2026).
On May 30, 2026, Norcross reflected on the passing of Jacquelyn Love: “Jacquelyn Love was a force for good in Deptford for generations. It saddened me to hear of her passing and I’m thinking of her family. She paved the way for others as a black, female deputy mayor in the 80s, and long remained a champion for civil rights, faith, the disabled, and”
Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st district since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while serving his constituents.
