Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing state innovation in defense, national economic concerns, and healthcare policy.

On September 5, 2025, Norcross highlighted New Jersey’s historical role in defense and innovation. He wrote: “New Jersey has always led the way in national defense and innovation. With the creation of the Office of Strategic Defense Investment, we’ll harness our one-of-a-kind Jersey talent to stay at the forefront of defense technology for generations to come.”

Later that day, Norcross criticized former President Donald Trump’s economic record. In his post he stated: “Trump promised to bring jobs back. Instead, manufacturing is shrinking, unemployment is rising, and the longest streak of job growth just ended. His reckless policies are driving our economy down. I am furious! You know what the best social program is Trump?! A good job!” This message reflected his concern about recent trends in manufacturing and employment.

On September 6, 2025, Norcross addressed healthcare policy under Trump’s administration. He posted: “Every time Trump goes after healthcare, it’s working families who pay the price. His cuts will raise costs and force parents to choose between care and groceries.”

Norcross has served as a member of Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews. Prior to his current role, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing constituents from New Jersey’s 1st District.
