Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of community and national issues through several posts on September 25, 2025.

In a post reflecting on Camden City’s progress in public safety, Norcross wrote: “A decade ago, Camden City had one of the highest homicide rates in North America. This summer, there were none. That progress shows what’s possible when you invest in community policing, work hand-in-hand with the community, and give officers the training and equipment they need” (September 25, 2025).

Later that day, he highlighted his recent engagement with an organization supporting military families: “Last week, I had the chance to sit down with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to discuss ways to strengthen resources for military families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We owe it to them to honor that sacrifice with action,” (September 25, 2025).

Addressing concerns over privacy violations affecting veterans and public officials, Norcross stated: “I’m outraged by the illegal release of @RepSherrill’s full military record, which included sensitive information like her Social Security number and home address. This isn’t just a violation of her privacy, it’s an attack on all veterans who honorably served this country. We are” (September 25, 2025).

Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st District since succeeding Rob Andrews in 2014. Before joining Congress, he served in both chambers of New Jersey’s state legislature between 2010 and 2014. Born and residing in Camden since his birth in 1958 at age 64 years old, Norcross continues to focus on issues impacting both his local community and broader national concerns.
