Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, recently shared his views on several issues via social media. Norcross, who has a history of public service in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate before joining Congress, addressed topics ranging from worker safety to veteran affairs and historical preservation.
On July 8, 2025, Congressman Norcross highlighted the challenging conditions faced by Amazon warehouse workers during Prime Day sales. He emphasized that “While shoppers score #PrimeDay deals, Amazon warehouse workers face some of their most dangerous conditions all year.” He advocated for his Warehouse Worker Protection Act which aims to ban quotas that risk injury, stating “No delivery is worth a worker’s safety.”
Later the same day, he raised concerns about staffing cuts at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Norcross reported that “The VA is quietly cutting 30,000 staff by the end of the year through hiring freezes, early retirements, and failing to fill needed vacancies.” He questioned how these reductions would benefit veterans already experiencing long wait times and bureaucratic challenges.
In another post on July 8th, Norcross announced federal funding support for a local historical project. He mentioned efforts in Camden County to restore the Benjamin Cooper Tavern into an American Revolution Museum. He stated: “I helped secure $500,000 in federal funding for the project so we can honor the values we fought for: democracy, freedom, and justice.”
