In his tweet, he also criticized former President Trump’s administration for threatening to cut essential services. “On this day in 1919, the American Legion was founded. In the 106 years since the American Legion has fought to ensure our nation recognizes and appreciates the service and sacrifice of our Armed Service members.”
Later that day, Norcross addressed fiscal policy concerns related to proposed cuts to essential services like Medicaid by Trump and House Republicans. He expressed concern about their focus on tax cuts for wealthy Americans at the expense of everyday citizens. “While they are making plans to cut essential services like Medicaid in order to give tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans, Trump and House Republicans aren’t thinking about the consequences for everyday Americans.”
On March 16, 2025, Norcross reflected on another historical event: the establishment of the United States Military Academy at West Point nearly 225 years ago. He highlighted his honor in nominating young leaders to this prestigious institution each year. “Nearly 225 years ago today, the United States Military Academy at West Point was established.
