Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues in several posts on August 5, 2025, including technology education opportunities for students, concerns about opioid epidemic prevention efforts, and proposed legislation regarding corporate tax breaks.

In his first post at 15:39 UTC, Norcross encouraged student participation in a national competition: “Calling all future tech leaders! The 2025 Congressional App Challenge is now open to middle & high school students in #SouthJersey. Register today and start building your app.

Later that day at 18:28 UTC, Norcross criticized former President Donald Trump over delays related to opioid crisis funding: “We can’t fight the opioid epidemic if Trump keeps blocking prevention efforts. Congress already allocated the funding to health departments nationwide. Now Trump’s delay is putting that progress in limbo and lives at risk.

In an evening post at 20:46 UTC, he addressed labor rights and corporate taxation policy: “Corporations should not be rewarded with tax breaks when they spend money to silence workers. My bill would end corporate handouts for union-busting campaigns, make our tax code fairer, and give workers the level playing field they deserve. Workers’ rights are non-negotiable. https://t.co/75QCeVwkL9”

Norcross has served as a member of Congress since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014 and previously held seats in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. He was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 and continues to reside there.
