Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on education policy, immigrant community issues, and local civic engagement through his social media posts.
On April 11, 2026, Norcross marked a significant milestone for federal education legislation: “Today is the 61st anniversary of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which improves the quality of education by giving federal funding to schools across the country. No matter their zipcode, every child deserves a thorough, high-quality education. As a member of”.
The following day, April 12, he highlighted discussions with local faith leaders regarding immigration concerns: “Earlier this month I met with faith leaders from Haddonfield United Methodist Church and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church to discuss conditions at the Delaney Hall Facility in Newark and the hardships that our immigrant communities are facing here in South Jersey. Norcross has served as U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 1st District since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served briefly in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing constituents from South Jersey.
