Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district, shared his thoughts on historical and current issues through a series of tweets. Norcross, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews, often addresses topics related to national history, gun violence, and economic policies.
On June 6, 2025, Congressman Norcross reflected on the significance of D-Day at Normandy Beach. He tweeted “81 years ago today on D-Day at Normandy Beach, the Allied Forces conducted the largest seaborne invasion in history. I have had the honor of visiting Normandy twice, and stood in reflection among the graves of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We must never”.
Later that day, Norcross marked National Gun Violence Awareness Day with a call for action against gun violence. He stated “Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Today, and everyday we remember those we have lost to senseless acts of gun violence. We must honor their memories by enacting common-sense gun reforms and making sure that no one else suffers from gun violence.”
On June 7, 2025, he addressed economic concerns regarding inflation data and its impact on workers’ rights. He commented “Workers rely on accurate inflation data to determine fair wages, benefits, and cost-of-living. Slashing consumer price data takes away information and power for workers by rigging the system to benefit the wealthy. We should invest in workers, not leave them in the dark.”
Congressman Norcross was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1958 and continues to reside there.
