Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district since 2014, recently shared his thoughts on various national issues through a series of tweets. Norcross, who succeeded Rob Andrews in Congress and previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, continues to voice his opinions on significant matters affecting the nation.

On March 20, 2025, Congressman Norcross addressed President Trump’s executive order aimed at abolishing the Department of Education. He criticized the action as unlawful and pledged that it would be contested legally. According to Norcross, “President Trump’s executive order to abolish the Department of Education is unlawful and will be challenged in court. The power to eliminate this agency lies with Congress, but President Trump’s careless actions will have real impacts on American families.” Link

The following day, March 21, 2025, he commemorated the historical significance of the Selma to Montgomery march for voting rights. In his tweet, he stated: “60 years ago, brave Americans marched from Selma to Montgomery to demand their right to vote. Later that day on World Down Syndrome Day, Congressman Norcross reflected on a personal experience highlighting inclusion for individuals with disabilities. He tweeted about his visit to Saint John of God: “On World Down Syndrome Day, I’m reminded of my visit to Saint John of God last fall where I saw the power of inclusion firsthand. Everyone deserves meaningful work and opportunity. I’ll always fight in Congress to support our neighbors and loved ones with disabilities.” Link
