Congressman Donald Norcross, currently representing New Jersey’s 1st district, has been vocal about various legislative issues through his social media platform. His statements reflect his ongoing commitment to worker safety, data privacy, and the importance of education and disability programs.
On April 28, 2025, Norcross shared personal reflections on workplace safety from his experience as an electrician. He stated, “As an electrician, I have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing hard-working Americans lose their lives on the job. I introduced the Workers’ Memorial Day Act to remember our brothers and sisters who passed away on the job and bring more attention to the need for safe”.
A day later, on April 29, 2025, Norcross addressed concerns over personal data privacy and protection. He challenged the access of private information by high-profile individuals such as Elon Musk, commenting, “There’s no reason why Elon Musk should have access to the personal data of private U.S. citizens. The Taxpayer Data Protection Act will limit access to this important data to people with specific qualifications and security clearances. An unelected billionaire should not have”.
Later that day, Norcross discussed the potential negative consequences of budget cuts. He emphasized, “Cuts to education and disability programs aren’t just budget decisions, they impact real lives and create real fear for families. We’ve made progress, but Republican budget cuts put programs at risk. We can’t let this happen.”
Donald Norcross, age 64, has been representing New Jersey’s 1st District in U.S. Congress since 2014. Before this, he served on the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in Camden, New Jersey, he continues to reside there.
