U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district, shared a series of posts on September 2, 2025, addressing federal funding cuts to public broadcasting, commemorating the end of World War II, and congratulating Senator Cory Booker on his engagement.

In a post made at 15:56 UTC, Norcross criticized recent actions by former President Trump and Republican lawmakers regarding public broadcasting funds. He wrote: “Trump and Republicans cut $1.1 billion from public broadcasting, shutting down the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This hurts kids’ programs like PBS KIDS and emergency alert systems across the country. What good does this do for working families?” (September 2, 2025).

Later that day at 18:39 UTC, Norcross reflected on historical sacrifices made during World War II: “Reflecting on the end of WWII reminds us that freedom comes at a cost. We remember the servicemembers who fought, the families who waited, and the sacrifices that shaped our nation.” (September 2, 2025).

In an additional post at 20:30 UTC, he offered congratulations to Senator Cory Booker with a brief message: “Congrats @SenBooker on your engagement!” (September 2, 2025).

Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st district in Congress since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Before his tenure in Congress began in 2014, he served both in the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958 and currently residing there at age 64, Norcross has longstanding ties to his community.
