U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district, addressed several issues on his social media account on August 7, 2025, including labor rights and the commemoration of National Purple Heart Day.

In a post made at 13:45 UTC, Norcross stated his support for unionized federal employees, writing: “We’re going to fight this and stand with @AFGENational every step of the way.”

Later that day, at 15:50 UTC, he honored service members on National Purple Heart Day. He wrote: “National Purple Heart Day is a time to remember the men and women who were wounded in action, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, standing in harm’s way for our country. We honor their sacrifice, their courage, and their commitment to protecting our democracy.”

At 18:13 UTC, Norcross responded to reports concerning striking workers in New Jersey and Illinois. He posted: “The reports of chemical agents being released on striking @Teamsters in New Jersey and Illinois are outrageous. This is a clear intimidation tactic to prevent these workers from getting a fair contract. No worker in America should ever fear for their health or safety while”

Donald Norcross has served as a member of Congress since 2014 after replacing Rob Andrews. Prior to his congressional service, he was part of the New Jersey General Assembly and later served in the New Jersey Senate from 2010 to 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there.
