Congressman Donald Norcross, representing New Jersey’s 1st district, has been vocal on various legislative issues through his social media platform. His recent posts cover topics such as mental health parity enforcement, family leave policies, and the implications of proposed actions against USAID.

On February 4, 2025, Congressman Norcross highlighted the issue of mental health parity. He stated, “Mental health parity is the law, but weak enforcement lets insurers ignore it — putting lives at risk. That’s why I introduced the Parity Enforcement Act with @RepBrianFitz and @RepJoeCourtney to give @USDOL the authority to hold insurers accountable.” This statement underscores his commitment to ensuring that mental health laws are enforced effectively.

The following day, on February 5, 2025, Norcross commemorated the anniversary of the Family and Medical Leave Act. He remarked on its significance for working families by stating “32 years ago, the Family and Medical Leave Act became law – a win for working families. No one should have to choose between caring for loved ones and paying the bills. We must keep pushing for #PaidLeaveForAll and raise the bar for workers across the country.” His focus remains on advancing paid leave policies nationwide.

Later that same day, Congressman Norcross expressed concern over efforts by President Trump and Elon Musk regarding USAID. He criticized their actions in a post saying “President Trump’s and Elon Musk’s efforts to shut down USAID are beyond cruel and demonstrate that they do not value ‘life’ as much as they say they do. This reckless action will have a widespread impact on humanitarian aid around the world.” This statement reflects his apprehension about potential impacts on global humanitarian aid initiatives.
