Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of policy issues on his social media account, including housing affordability, national defense priorities, and mental health awareness.
On September 9, 2025, Norcross highlighted the ongoing challenges facing American families in accessing affordable housing. He wrote, “The Department of Housing & Urban Development was created in 1965 as part of the Great Society to improve housing and strengthen communities. Sixty years later, too many working families are still priced out of homeownership. We can and must do more.”
The following day, on September 10, 2025, Norcross commented on defense spending and bipartisan cooperation within Congress: “The Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee’s portion of the NDAA reflects our bipartisan tradition of tackling tough choices responsibly. We need to get the warfighter the cutting edge equipment and technology needed to defeat our Nation’s adversaries. I hope it can stay https://t.co/mb1sgCZ7ud”
Later that same day, he marked World Suicide Prevention Day by calling for increased mental health support: “Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Too many families know the pain of losing a loved one. Together, we can break the stigma, expand access to mental health care, and remind each other: you are not alone.”
Norcross has served in Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews and previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate from 2010 to 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while representing his district at the federal level.
