Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates on social media this week highlighting local community events and issues affecting first responders and workers.

On February 5, 2026, Norcross addressed a recent tragedy involving a firefighter in his district. He stated, “Today, we mourn the death of a brave firefighter in our community. His courage and sacrifice remind us of the extraordinary risks our first responders take to keep us safe each and every day. Our community grieves this loss alongside those who knew and served with him. My deepest”.

The following day, February 6, Norcross commented on discussions held with union leadership at a Labor Caucus meeting: “We had a good discussion with @flyingwithsara, President of @afa_cwa, at this week’s @Labor_Caucus meeting. Flight attendants keep us safe in the air, and they deserve fair pay, strong protections, and respect on the job. I’ll always be grateful to the flight crew who helped save https://t.co/I1qXVNdGwH”.

Later that same day, Norcross thanked constituents for participating in his latest town hall event: “Thank you to everyone who came out in the cold for my 115th town hall. I’m grateful to every person who took the time to ask a question, share a story, and make your voice heard. Your voices shape the work I do every day in Washington. https://t.co/vmAMKD4QHq”.

Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st congressional district since replacing Rob Andrews in 2014. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served briefly in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate from 2010 through 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while serving his district.
