Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents New Jersey’s 1st district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently addressed several key issues in a series of posts on social media. The topics ranged from public education in New Jersey to congressional oversight at a military base and commemorating the anniversary of legislation supporting 9/11 first responders.
On July 28, 2025, Norcross praised New Jersey’s educational system and discussed his meeting with the New Jersey Education Association. He stated, “New Jersey public schools are some of the best in the nation. It was great to chat with @NJEA about how Congress is fighting back against the Trump administration’s unprecedented attacks on education. Our teachers and education staff keep our country running by training the next”.
The following day, Norcross expressed concern over actions by the Trump administration regarding due process and outlined his recent congressional oversight efforts. On July 29, he wrote, “The Trump administration has shown time and time again that it will ignore due process. On Friday, I joined Congressman Conaway for a meeting at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to perform our congressional duty of oversight after Defense Secretary Hegseth informed us that the”.
Later on July 29, Norcross marked the five-year anniversary of significant legislation benefiting emergency responders affected by September 11th. He posted, “5 years ago, the Never Forget the Heroes Act was signed into law, securing permanent funding for 9/11 first responders and survivors. We honor their courage and sacrifice by continuing to fight for the care and support they deserve.”
Donald Norcross has represented New Jersey’s 1st District in Congress since 2014 after succeeding Rob Andrews. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate between 2010 and 2014. Born in Camden in 1958, Norcross continues to reside there while serving his district.
