On May 1, 2025, a community cleanup took place at Whitman Park with participation from Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell, Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen, and the Campbell’s Company. The initiative is part of Campbell’s annual Campbell’s Cares Days of Service, with about 250 employees joining the effort.

ā€œThese community clean ups are imperative to keeping this city beautiful and well cared for,ā€ said McDonnell. ā€œIt is an honor to work side by side with our community partners, especially the Campbell’s Company, to beautify the Whitman Park neighborhood.ā€

The cleanup activities are supported by the City of Camden Department of Public Works, which is responsible for debris collection, including large bulk items. Residents have the opportunity to learn about recycling, e-waste, trash disposal, litter prevention, and other city programs. The efforts are part of the Camden Strong initiative, which features a series of 13 neighborhood cleanups and a cemetery cleanup during the spring and summer.
