The Camden County Improvement Authority and the City of Camden announced on Mar. 13 that they will host a First-Time Homebuyer Information Session for city residents on Saturday, March 21, at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Camden.
The event aims to help prospective homebuyers understand available down payment assistance programs and guide them through the process of purchasing their first home. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support community welfare and economic development in Camden County, which serves over 500,000 residents across 37 municipalities according to the official website.
Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said, “Buying your first home is an exciting milestone, but it can also be an intimidating process. This information session will give prospective buyers crucial insight into resources that are available to them at the local and state level. I encourage all Camden City residents who are preparing to buy their first home to attend.”
Cappelli Jr. and Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen will open the session with welcoming remarks. Guest speakers will discuss key steps in the homebuying journey, including details about homebuyer programs, mortgage processes, working with realtors, and legal considerations involved in purchasing a property.
Camden County advances community welfare through efforts in education, workforce development, public services, and maintains facilities such as parks, libraries, and nutrition centers to foster well-being according to the official website. The county operates under a seven-member Board of Commissioners who serve staggered three-year terms and focuses on enhancing quality of life through services in public safety, health, transportation, and economic development as reported by the official website.
