Residents in Camden City are being cautioned about individuals presenting fraudulent solicitor licenses. According to a recent incident, someone showed a counterfeit license to a city inspector that included the name of Camden County Clerk Pamela Lampitt.

Officials clarified that the Camden County Clerk’s Office does not issue such licenses. Any documents referring to the Clerk’s Office for solicitation purposes are invalid. In Camden, only the Bureau of License and Inspection is authorized to provide legitimate solicitation licenses, which do not contain the County Clerk’s signature or contact information.

“Valid licenses for solicitors and vendors help to protect residents from potential scams,” said Clerk Pamela Lampitt. “That’s why verifying that a solicitor’s license is authentic is essential.”

Anyone suspecting fraudulent business activity should contact the Camden City Bureau of License and Inspection at (856) 757-7131.
