The Michaels Organization and Virtua Health have opened Oliver Station, a $24 million housing and healthcare community in Camden’s Whitman Park neighborhood. The development provides affordable one- and two-bedroom apartments for residents aged 55 and older. It also features an onsite primary care office run by Virtua Health, combining housing with healthcare services.

“This is a revolutionary project that is setting a new standard for housing in the state of New Jersey,” Commissioner Jeffrey Nash said. “Oliver Station is addressing major concerns in this community – affordable housing and healthcare – bringing the two together to create a healthier, more equitable Camden. I am overjoyed to see this project come to fruition and I cannot wait to see the difference Oliver Station will make in this community.”

Oliver Station is the first development in South Jersey created through the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency’s Hospital Partnership Subsidy Program. This initiative encourages building mixed-use communities near hospitals to provide stable housing with accessible health care for people 55 and older as well as their families.
