As a winter storm moves through Camden County and the South Jersey region, the Camden County Department of Public Works (DPW) is actively working to clear 1,200 lane miles of road. Commissioner Al Dyer, who serves as the liaison to the DPW, stated, “Our crews were prepped and ready to go this morning to ensure all of our roadways were treated and cleared for the incoming storm.”
The snow is expected to accumulate steadily throughout the day, with significant snowfall in the late morning and midday. Most accumulation will occur before 3 p.m., though another round of snow may arrive in the early evening. Some areas in Camden County could see more than four inches of snow, while two inches are anticipated towards Philadelphia. A hard freeze is expected overnight as temperatures drop below freezing.
Dyer advised caution for those traveling on roads: “Please be cautious if you have to travel on the roads today. There is always the possibility for black ice, especially after the temperatures fall overnight so please slow down and give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.”
At their Lindenwold complex, over 100 pieces of equipment are ready to keep roads passable. Crews will be dispatched as needed across 12 winter maintenance districts in Camden County.
