This Saturday, the Camden County Police Department organized its second annual Cops & Bobbers fishing event at Cramer Hill Waterfront Park. The event coincided with the grand opening of the Cooper River Water Trail and New Jersey’s statewide spring free fishing day.

The police department collaborated with several organizations, including Upstream Alliance, Camden Community Partnership, and Center for Aquatic Sciences. They provided all necessary fishing equipment and bait. Police officers assisted children in baiting hooks, casting lines, and reeling in fish. In addition to fishing, attendees enjoyed activities such as kayaking, guided nature walks, face painting, kite flying, games, music, and food.

“We were excited to kick off the summer with our community at Cramer Hill Waterfront Park,” said Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. “We cherish the times that we get to spend with the city’s youngest residents, building positive relationships through fun activities such as fishing.”
