The 25th annual High School Golf Commissioners Cup, hosted by the Camden County Board of Commissioners, took place at the Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood. The event saw the participation of 17 co-ed teams and five girls teams from various schools across the county.

Commissioner Ed McDonnell, who serves as the liaison to the Camden County Department of Events and Community Outreach, expressed the significance of the tournament, stating, “This is a highly anticipated event each year because it honors high school athletes from Camden County who represent excellence both on the field and in the classroom.”

The results of the 2024 tournament showcased impressive performances from the participating teams and individuals. In the girls category, Paul VI High School secured the 1st place, with Eastern Regional High School as the runner-up. For the co-ed teams, Cherry Hill High School East claimed the top spot, followed by Eastern Regional High School in 2nd place and Haddon Township High School in 3rd place.

Among the individual competitors, Elora Walker from Bishop Eustace Prep clinched the 1st place in the girls’ category, followed by Camryn Bazulis from Haddon Township in 2nd place, and Sophia Greenwood from Paul VI High School in 3rd place. In the co-ed division, Ethan Legarda from Eastern Regional High School emerged victorious in the 1st place, with Peter Lafon from Haddon Township and Ethan Barroway from Cherry Hill High School East securing the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

The annual High School Golf Tournament not only provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills on the golf course but also celebrates their dedication to both sports and academics.
