On Wednesday, the Board of Commissioners joined high school seniors and their families to celebrate the Best of Class Awards. These awards honor students in eight categories: most courageous, community service, leadership, performing arts, most improved, school spirit, all-star athlete, and best overall from high schools throughout Camden County.

The students received a Camden County Best of the Class Medal to wear at their graduation ceremonies as a symbol of their achievements. In addition to honoring students, the Commissioners recognized Stacey Brown-Downham as Teacher of the Year. She serves as an elementary reading interventionist at J.F. Tatem Elementary School.

Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell expressed his support for the awardees: “We are thrilled to be able to support these brilliant students as they receive these prestigious awards,” he said. “Camden County has some of the most remarkable young people and their future is certainly bright.”
