The Camden County Board of Commissioners held an event on Veterans Day to honor 11 local veterans at the Padre Peter Molnar Veteran Appreciation Breakfast, which took place at the Collingswood Ballroom.

Commissioner Jennifer Fleisher, who serves as liaison to Veterans Affairs, spoke about the significance of recognizing those who have served. “Our veterans represent the very best of what it means to serve,” Fleisher said. “On Veterans Day and every day, we recognize their bravery and honor the sacrifices of those who chose to put their country before themselves.”

The breakfast paid tribute to Padre Peter Molnar, a former Army Chaplain in Vietnam who later spent 32 years in Reserve and National Guard units. Molnar also worked for 17 years as a mental health administrator for Camden County and contributed as an assistant hospital administrator and social worker for the Veterans Affairs Office. He was active with several Veteran Service Organizations, including American Legions and Jewish War Veterans.

Veterans honored at the event included Melody J. Arnold (Army), Louis Farino (Navy), Ruth A. Herbolsheimer (Army), Joseph E. Keyek, Sr. (Navy), Donald R. McConaghy (Navy), Donald W. Norcross, Jr (Army), Janette I. Norcross (Army), Philip A. Ritz (Army), Floyd F. Spechler (Army), Joe Baum (NJ State Honor Guard Ribbon with Bronze & Silver Star), and Greg Murphy (NJ State Honor Guard Ribbon with Bronze & Silver Star).
