Public works crews in Camden County are actively responding to a winter storm that began moving through the region. The Camden County Department of Public Works is focused on clearing 1,200 lane miles of county roads.
Commissioner Al Dyer, who serves as liaison to the Department of Public Works, stated, “Our crews have been working throughout the night and into this morning to ensure that our county roads are passable for residents and commuters. Please be cautious if you have to travel today and give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.”
The snowfall is expected to subside by mid-morning on Sunday, but temperatures will remain below freezing. This increases the risk of wet surfaces and slush freezing over, and untreated surfaces may remain snow-covered for several days.
The public works complex in Lindenwold is equipped with more than 100 pieces of snow removal equipment. When hazardous weather occurs, staff are dispatched across 12 maintenance districts within Camden County to salt and plow roads as needed. The county’s response strategy involves sending crews only to affected zones.
Residents experiencing power outages are encouraged to contact their utility providers directly so restoration can be coordinated efficiently. Outages can be reported online or via text message:
