In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Board of Commissioners has organized a walk to support individuals affected by mental health issues. The event is a joint effort with several organizations including the Prosecutor’s Office, the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force, the Governor’s Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and the Camden County Municipal Alliance Program.

Commissioner Virginia Betteridge emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating: “Raising awareness for mental health is extremely important as it is often misunderstood and stigmatized. We want to show our communities that there is no shame in talking about mental health and that help is available if you need it.”

The walk aims to foster understanding and encourage open conversations about mental health challenges within the community.
