Several roadwork projects are scheduled to take place throughout Camden County from December 1 to December 5, potentially impacting travel in multiple municipalities.

Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, advised drivers to plan ahead and use alternate routes. “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” Dyer said. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

In Berlin Township and Voorhees, South Jersey Gas will conduct work on Cooper Road from Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., resulting in a full closure between Route 73 in Voorhees and East Taunton Road in Berlin Township.

In Camden, several closures are planned:
– South Jersey Gas will close East State Street on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between River Avenue and Federal Street.
– Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue throughout the week with lane or shoulder closures between Newton Avenue & Euclid Avenue as well as Newton Avenue & Kaighn Avenue from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– PSE&G is scheduled for work on Federal Street and River Avenue from Monday through Friday, with lane or shoulder closures during daytime hours.
– Additional work on Haddon Avenue will result in a lane shift between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard & Cooper Plaza from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– North 27th Street will be fully closed Thursday between Cramer Street & High Street.
– On Ferry Avenue, PSE&G’s project will cause different sections of the road to close each day: Wednesday (South 7th Street & Kossuth Street), Thursday (Kossuth Street & Phillips Street), and Friday (partial westbound closure between Phillips Street & South 8th Street).

Other municipalities affected include:
– Cherry Hill and Merchantville: Partial westbound closure of Chapel Avenue on Monday and Tuesday from South Center Street in Merchantville to Hampton Road in Cherry Hill.
– Collingswood: Full closure of Park Avenue from Dill Avenue to Ogden Avenue Monday through Thursday.
– Lindenwold: Full closure of East Linden Avenue from Irving Avenue to Emerson Street all week.
