Several roadwork projects are scheduled to take place throughout Camden County from September 29 to October 3. The Camden County Department of Public Works will oversee these activities, which will affect multiple municipalities and require lane shifts or full road closures in certain areas.

Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, advised drivers to plan ahead for potential delays. “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” Dyer said. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

In Berlin Borough, North Park Drive will be closed between White Horse Pike and Berlin Cross Keys Road from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

In Camden City, several streets will experience disruptions:
– Broadway will have lane shifts on Monday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Washington Street and Benson Street.
– Collings Avenue will have lane shifts on Monday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., affecting the area near Interstate 676 ramps and Newton Creek Bridge.
– PSE&G is scheduled for work on Haddon Avenue at various times throughout the week, resulting in lane shifts at Mechanic Street as well as between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Cooper Plaza.
– Market Street crews will cause lane closures between Second Street and Third Street each day from Monday through Friday.
– Mt. Ephraim Avenue will be fully closed between Carl Miller Boulevard and Ferry Avenue all week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
– Additional closures include Haddon Avenue (Newton Avenue to Euclid Avenue) with lane restrictions daily; State Street (North Second Street to North Front Street) with shoulder closures due to American Water work.

Other municipalities affected by this week’s projects include:
– Collingswood: Park Avenue closed between Dill Avenue & Ogden Avenue
– Gibbsboro: United States Avenue (Lakeview Drive South & Old Egg Harbor Road) closed Monday–Thursday; Clementon Road East (Haddon Ave & Lakeview Drive South) closed Wednesday–Friday
– Gloucester Township: Little Gloucester Road closed Wednesday between Blackwood-Clementon Road & Broadacres Drive
– Haddonfield: Kings Highway West partial closure southbound (Linden Ave & Chestnut St); Avondale Ave fully closed Thursday (West Mt Vernon Ave & Crystal Lake Ave)
– Lindenwold: East Linden Ave fully closed (Irving Ave & Emerson St)
– Merchantville: Chapel Ave fully closed Tuesday–Friday (South Center St & West Maple Ave)
– Winslow Township: Mays Landing Rd fully closed all week (Old Albertson Rd & Atlantic County Line)

The Camden County Department of Public Works maintains over 1,200 miles of county roads along with bridges and dams across the region. The department provides highway construction projects, routine maintenance such as pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting, storm drainage upkeep, and operates out of Lindenwold with staff available around the clock.
