Several roadwork projects are scheduled to take place in Camden County during the week of December 21 to December 26. The Camden County Department of Public Works will oversee these projects, which will impact traffic in Berlin Township, Camden, and Winslow Township.

Commissioner Al Dyer, who serves as liaison to the Department of Public Works, advised drivers to plan for alternate routes and allow extra travel time. “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Dyer. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

In Berlin Township, Cooper Road will be closed between Cushman Avenue and Hopewell Road on Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Camden, Haddon Avenue will be fully closed between Newton Avenue and Euclid Avenue from Monday, December 22 through Wednesday, December 24 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work is also planned on Federal Street and River Avenue on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday of that week. There will be a lane shift on Federal Street between River Avenue and 16th Street as well as a full closure of River Avenue between East State Street and Federal Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Winslow Township, Erial Road northbound between Sicklerville Road and Vista Court will have a partial closure on Monday, December 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Camden County Department of Public Works manages over 1,200 miles of county roads along with bridges and dams. The department is responsible for highway construction projects as well as ongoing maintenance tasks such as pothole repairs and storm drainage upkeep. Staff are available around the clock at their Lindenwold location.

Residents can report roadway concerns by calling (856) 566-2980 or visiting www.camdencounty.com.
