Several road projects are set to take place in Camden County from July 7 to July 11. Commissioner Al Dyer, who is the liaison to the Department of Public Works, advises motorists to “plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time” while also urging them to “slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris” when traveling through construction areas.

In Audubon, work on West Nicholson Road will occur from July 7 to July 10 between Payson Court and Central Avenue. Berlin Borough will see South Jersey Gas working on Berlin Cross Keys Road with partial closures southbound from Watsontown-New Freedom Road to White Horse Pike on July 7 and July 8.

Camden will have PSE&G working on Haddon Avenue with a lane shift between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Cooper Plaza from July 7 to July 11. In Haddonfield, PSE&G’s work on Avondale Avenue will result in full closure between West Mt. Vernon and West Redman avenues on July 7, while NJ American Water’s project on North Haddon Avenue will cause full closure between Kings Highway East and Euclid Avenue from July 7 to July 11.

Haddon Township’s West Park Avenue will face either full closure or alternating traffic managed by flaggers between Glenwood and Crystal Lake avenues due to PSE&G work scheduled for July 8. Merchantville crews will be active on East Park Drive leading to partial closures between Center Street and East Chestnut Avenue from July 8 through July 11.

In Pennsauken, Terrace Avenue will be fully closed between Highland and Woodland avenues as PSE&G conducts work on July 9. Voorhees residents should expect full road closures at South Burnt Mill Road between Somerdale and White Horse roads, alongside partial westbound closures at White Horse Road due to South Jersey Gas operations occurring overnight from July 7 through July 10.

The Camden County Department of Public Works maintains over a thousand miles of county roadway along with bridges and dams across the area. They emphasize safety for both motorists and pedestrians through various highway construction projects, including regular maintenance tasks such as pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting, and storm drainage upkeep.
