The Camden County Board of Commissioners has announced the start of its 2025 Seasonal Influenza Immunization Program, with flu shot clinics scheduled at nine locations across the county. The program began at the annual Senior Health Fair on October 8 at the Forum Wedding and Catering Hall.
Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, who serves as liaison to the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, emphasized the importance of vaccination. “The flu sickens thousands of people each year and in extreme cases, can become deadly,” Betteridge said. “You can protect yourself and those around you from this illness by getting your annual flu shot.”
Flu symptoms may include fever or chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, and fatigue. Residents experiencing these symptoms, especially those in high-risk groups, are advised to contact their healthcare provider for guidance.
Children aged 9 and older are eligible to receive a flu shot through the county program but must be accompanied by an adult. Children under age 9 require two shots spaced a month apart and should see a pediatrician. Uninsured children can access services by contacting CamCare at (856) 583-2400 or HealthFirst Care and Wellness Center in Bellmawr at (856) 931-2700.
