Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco (R-25) has issued a statement following the resignation of BPU Commissioner Marian Abdou.
“I thank Commissioner Marian Abdou for her service on the Board of Public Utilities and wish her the very best as she steps away to focus on her family,” said Bucco. “While I respect her decision and wish her well, this transition presents a critical opportunity for the state.”
Bucco emphasized the need for appointing a new commissioner who prioritizes energy affordability and increased generation. He highlighted that New Jersey residents are facing rising energy bills and called for leadership that focuses on bringing more reliable sources like natural gas and nuclear online to reduce costs.
