Conrail will begin work to replace a rail crossing on Berlin Cross Keys Road in Berlin starting August 18. The project will require full road closures between Turnersville and Watsontown-New Freedom roads. The first closure is scheduled for Monday, August 18, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., with another closure set from 8 p.m. Friday, August 22, through 5 a.m. Monday, August 25.

“We recommend that motorists seek alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destination while Conrail completes this project,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “And as always, please slow down if you are traveling near and work zone and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

The Camden County Department of Public Works manages more than 1,200 miles of county roads along with bridges and dams in the area. Their responsibilities include highway construction projects, road maintenance such as pothole repairs and street sweeping, grass cutting, and storm drainage upkeep. The department operates out of Lindenwold with staff available around the clock to address issues affecting Camden County residents.

Residents can report concerns about county roadways by calling (856) 566-2980 or visiting www.camdencounty.com.
